The CW Sports booth will have a special guest next weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as Kyle Busch becomes a temporary race analyst.
Adam Alexander, Jamie McMurray, and Parker Kligerman briefly mentioned this during Saturday's Xfinity Series race at Phoenix, which Aric Almirola won in overtime. Kligerman then confirmed the news on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
"The GOAT of the series filling in," Kligerman posted on Sunday afternoon. "Like an extra in a TV show getting a week off and Brad Pitt agrees to fill in. I'm racing the (IMSA) Sebring 12 hour w/ (Forte Racing).
"Thanks (The CW) for letting me go chase a bucket list race for me."
Kligerman stepping away from the booth is part of his "retirement" from NASCAR. The veteran spent the last two seasons competing full-time in the Xfinity Series with Big Machine Racing.
He then stepped away from full-time racing to take on a limited schedule and add broadcasting to his list of responsibilities.
Part of this schedule change put Kligerman behind the wheel of the Henderson Motorports Chevrolet for select Truck Series races. He also landed an opportunity with Forte Racing. This helped him make his IMSA debut during this season's Rolex 24 at Daytona.
With the 12 Hours of Sebring falling on the same weekend as the Xfinity race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Kligerman had a schedule conflict. CW made it possible for him to compete in the IMSA race.
Busch is a fitting option to replace Kligerman for this one-off race. He is a Las Vegas native, and he has no shortage of experience in the Xfinity Series.
Busch is the series' all-time winningest driver with 102 trips to victory lane. Two of these Xfinity wins were at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He won the 2016 race after starting from the pole and leading 199 of the 200 laps. He then won in 2019 after leading another 98 laps.
