Eight-time winner headlines revamped Ed Carpenter lineup

Ed Carpenter Racing has announced its lineup for the 2025 NTT IndyCar Series season, one headlined by an eight-time winner.

Alexander Rossi will join the team in 2025 after signing a multi-year deal. He will become teammates with Christian Rasmussen, who just completed his rookie season. Rossi will drive the No. 20 Chevrolet while Rasmussen will drive the No. 21.

Ed Carpenter Racing has two charters guaranteeing entry into all of the races on the schedule except for the Indy 500. Team co-owner Ed Carpenter will try to qualify for this prestigious event in a third car as he tries to make another one-off start.

Rossi made his IndyCar debut in 2016, and he turned heads in the process. He won the Indy 500 as a rookie, becoming the first American driver to achieve this feat since 1928.

Rossi has since driven for Andretti Autosport and Arrow McLaren Racing. He has won races at such tracks as Pocono, Road America, Watkins Glen, and Mid-Ohio.

Rasmussen made 13 starts for Ed Carpenter Racing this season. He posted an average finish of 18.4. His best finish was ninth at Mid-Ohio. Rasmussen was the highest-finishing rookie in the Indy 500 as he crossed the line 12th overall.

Before joining Ed Carpenter Racing, Rasmussen achieved success in multiple racing series. He won the U.S. F2000 National Championship in 2020 and the Indy Pro 2000 Championship in 2021. Rasmussen most recently won the Indy NXT title in 2023.

"It is an exciting day to not only welcome Alex to the team but to extend our relationship with Christian," Carpenter said in a statement. "We are very excited about our lineup, and other partnership announcements that will be forthcoming.

"As excited as I am about these additions, I also want to thank Rinus (VeeKay) for his five years with the team. It is always hard to say goodbye to a teammate and a friend, but I am confident that Rinus' career will continue to blossom. As we look ahead to 2025 and beyond, I am fully focused on getting ECR back to new heights, winning races, and contending for championships."
