Two of the top series in NASCAR are in action this weekend at the reconfigured Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.
This part road course/part oval hosts an elimination race for both the Xfinity Series and Cup Series. Twelve drivers in each series will enter the weekend in contention for the championship. Only eight will move forward.
The Xfinity Series teams have completed two races of the playoffs. Only Sammy Smith has a secure spot in the Round of 8 after his win at Talladega.
The Cup Series playoffs started with 16 drivers eligible for the championship. Ty Gibbs, Martin Truex Jr., Brad Keselowski, and Harrison Burton were eliminated after the Bristol elimination race.
No playoff drivers have won in the Round of 12, but William Byron secured his spot in the Round of 8 on points.
