AJ Foyt Racing brings back ‘exciting young driver’ for 2025

AJ Foyt Racing has finalized its driver lineup for the 2025 NTT IndyCar Series season.

The team has announced that Santino Ferrucci will return in 2025 to drive the No. 14 Chevrolet. He will partner with David Malukas, who signed with AJ Foyt Racing last month.

"I'm thrilled to continue with Santino in the number 14 car," said Team President Larry Foyt in a statement. "We have really gelled over the last two seasons and he's a big part of our recent success.

"This continuity is great for the team and I believe the pairing of Ferrucci and Malukas next season is a powerful combination for AJ Foyt Racing."

Ferrucci, who made his IndyCar Series debut in 2018, spent two full seasons racing for Dale Coyne Racing. The Connecticut native then spent two seasons making part-time starts in IndyCar and in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Ferrucci landed with AJ Foyt Racing at the start of the 2023 season. He was in control of the No. 14 entry for all 17 races, a run that included a career-best third-place finish in the Indy 500.

Ferrucci returned to AJ Foyt Racing this season. He won the pole for the first time in his career, and he has posted a career-best average finish (11.3) in 16 races. He is 10th in points heading into the season final at Nashville Superspeedway.

Ferrucci only has 76 starts in America's premier open-wheel series, but this run includes several notable performances. For example, he has finished top-10 in all six of his Indy 500 starts.

"I think Larry's done a great job building the team so they are now in a position to win an Indy 500 and compete for championships," Ferrucci said in a statement. "Everybody that's there is what made this team's amazing turnaround.

"We've all put a lot of time, energy, and hard work into this program and I really want to see it through, not just as the driver but on a personal level too."
