The internet can be a cruel place. It's a place were rumors spread -- fast -- hopes get raised, and dreams get crushed.
All of that happened on the the Reddit page on NASCAR, which carried this headline:
Asif Kapadia, director of "Senna" and "Amy," appears to making a new documentary called "Earnhardt."
Say what??
Kapadia directed two those two acclaimed films, the trouble singer Amy Winehouse, and the life and death of Brazilian Formula 1 champion Ayrton Senna. Dude is the real deal, so it's no wonder fans immediately went nuts, and the rumor spread like wildfire.
There's only problem. It's not true.

According to ForTheWin, someone noticed that Kapadia's Wikipedia page had been changed include a movie titled ""Earnhardt" with a release date TBA.
That has since been removed, as have the dream of Earnhardt fans.
