23XI Racing unveils Xfinity Speed Center in partnership extension

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- 23XI Racing provided media members with a rare opportunity on Wednesday evening. The NASCAR Cup Series team gave a select group a behind-the-scenes look at the Xfinity Speed Center.

This large room tucked in the corner of Airspeed, the team's headquarters, serves as the war room during NASCAR weekends. It features a wall-sized screen showing the live race feed, the weather, the leaderboard, in-car cameras, an overhead view of the pit stalls, and other crucial pieces of data.

The Xfinity Speed Center features several rows of workstations, which is key considering how the sport has changed. NASCAR limits the number of team personnel at the track each week, so 23XI Racing keeps key team members in Huntersville.

This group is not cut off from the outside world, however. They work out of the Xfinity Speed Center. They have direct lines to the No. 23, No. 35, and No. 45 teams so that they can provide crucial updates and strategize during practice, qualifying, and the race.

The team members working out of the Xfinity Speed Center can also collaborate in the heat of the moment so that all three teams know the adjustments they can make.

23XI Racing provided a direct example during the press event. They said that the team working out of the Xfinity Speed Center last season was able to watch Tyler Reddick catch air at the Charlotte Roval and then contact crew chief Billy Scott to tell him the adjustments to make.

Reddick ultimately finished 11th overall and advanced to the Round of 8 of the playoffs.

The Xfinity Speed Center is not solely used as a war room. Senior Director of Competition Dave Rogers also explained that the pit crews use the room for film study. The drivers, crew chiefs, and spotters also use the room to review radio chatter and see where they could make improvements.

"Each member of our competition group at 23XI plays an important role in our race preparation and execution," Rogers said in a press release.

"The ability for key personnel to digest data and provide insight throughout race weekends regardless of their location is vital to our success. We're fortunate to have great partners like Xfinity who share a passion for racing and understand how important fast and reliable connectivity is for our team."

The unveiling of the Xfinity Speed Center is part of a partnership extension between 23XI Racing and Xfinity. The war room received its new name while two of the 23XI Racing drivers reunited with a longtime sponsor.

According to the team, Xfinity will serve as a partner for both Reddick and Bubba Wallace in multiple races, starting this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Reddick will have a special Xfinity Mobile scheme on his No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE.

Along with the sponsorship, Xfinity and 23XI Racing will join forces on numerous activations. This includes meet-and-greets and VIP pit box access. Xfinity will be the primary sponsor of an Intersect event, which 23XI Racing uses to draw in new fans through music and car culture among other things.
