AM Racing has named the crew chief for the No. 15 team and incoming driver Harrison Burton.
Burton, the winner of this season's summer Cup Series race at Daytona, will have Danny Efland calling the shots in 2025 as he moves back to the Xfinity Series on a full-time basis.
This pairing will mark Efland's first time serving as a crew chief for an entire NASCAR season. He has previously been the crew chief for Erik Jones in three Cup Series races, Ty Dillon in two Xfinity races, and Daryl Harr in two Xfinity races.
Jones finished ninth at Pocono Raceway while working with Efland in 2022. He finished 16th on the streets of Chicago.
Now, Efland will be atop the No. 15 AM Racing pit box for the full season, starting with Daytona International Speedway in February. He will work with Burton as the North Carolina native pursues his fifth win in the Xfinity Series.
"I am excited about this next chapter in my racing career to join AM Racing and Harrison Burton to fight for an Xfinity Series championship in 2025," Efland said in a statement.
"I have worked hard for this opportunity, and I believe in the vision of AM Racing, as well as Harrison's capabilities, I know that they have what it takes to contend for race wins and ultimately a championship."
Efland is a former driver in the second-tier series. He made 63 starts in Xfinity between 2007-13 while driving for such teams as JD Motorsports, Mike Harmon Racing, and Go Fas Racing.
In 2014, he became an engineer and kicked off a career that has led to stops at Richard Childress Racing and Richard Petty Motorsports, which later became Legacy Motor Club. He has most recently been the lead engineer for Jones and the No. 43 team.
"I am looking forward to working with Danny next season," Burton said in a press release. "With his credentials as a successful engineer and experience as a race car driver, it should benefit our realistic goals of contending for race wins and chasing an Xfinity Series championship."
